Sawing advise - 42CrMo4+QT

One of our regular customers, who has worked exclusively with the RiF Stahl M42 Cobalt version for many years, was recently faced with a “challenging” task. The company had to cut chrome coated bars of the type 42CrMo4+QT in series with extreme precision on their “older” but still running Cosen C-320NC band saw machine. This material, known for its strength and hardness, brought new obstacles, especially because of its hard outer layer that is difficult to penetrate without the right tools and approach.

After a thorough analysis of the application, machine and the material, we advised the customer to use …

✅ The RiF Stahl Aurora Multi Chip sawing blade.

This particular saw blade is designed to cut harder materials, harder outer edges effectively and without risk, ensuring a precise and efficient cut. Still, the customer was aware of the fact that a carbide tiped band saw needs to be PRE-cut correctly to maximize its lifespan and achieve optimal performance. Therefore, he wanted a goal-oriented approach and asked us to guide the operator on site through this critical step in the process.

This morning we were happy to go to the customer's workshop to personally support the operator. Our expertise and practical experience enabled us to not only convey the correct cutting techniques, but also to suggest the most suitable speeds and parameters, as calculated by the RiF Stahl Calculator. This allowed the operator to get started with confidence, while gaining a deeper understanding of how the carbide bandsaw works and the importance of correct handling.

The customer and – more importantly – the operator now have a clear understanding of how valuable proper sawing technology is when working with high-quality and expensive band saws. An expensive band saw deserves to be treated correctly, and thanks to this targeted support, the customer is assured of an efficient and durable cutting solution for their new material.

This project shows once again how a combination of expert advice and practical guidance can make a world of difference in the metalworking industry.

This new integration of this new type of sawing blade is going to provide more accuracy to this company. A company, a customer we’re proud of.

ST Massive RT’s to boost efficiency

We installed this JLH H320PRO with our own designed ST Massive rollerables with Köhler Engineering, begin this week, the customer is happy to have a full automatic sawing machine now, giving him a capacity to saw up to 320mm.

First JLH sawing machine in Belgium

It all begins with a first contact. Just like every great partnership, it starts with a conversation. This customer reached out to us with a clear goal: finding the best price/quality sawing option while keeping their specific needs in mind.

Over a cup of coffee (or maybe a virtual one), they shared their wishes with us:

“We want an infeed roller solution of 7 meters, with a storage possibility before the tubes touch the roller tables. We want an automatic band sawing machine with a maximum capacity of 700mm in diameter and the same outfeed as the infeed. Additionally on the outfeed, we need a solution for storing small pieces on a plate and an easy access to the other side of the operator’s place.”

A challenge? Yes. But exactly the kind we love! With the customer’s vision in mind, our team got to work, carefully designing a 3D concept to bring our idea to life before moving forward. Seeing the design in a realistic way made the discussions smoother and more efficient.

The result? A customer not only happy with the collaboration but also eager to continue working together in the long term for their sawing needs. Thanks to our trusted partner Frascio, we delivered the Lenox RX+—the perfect blade for their materials. Along with the machine, we also provided the necessary oils after successful testing.

There’s a milestone for our young company in this project! This project also marks a first in Belgium! We proudly delivered the very first Chinese JLH band saw in the country, a JLH H700PRO with a 3-meter gripper. And what a machine it is! With its impressive features and top-tier performance, it’s set to make a real difference in the customer’s production process.
